"I can do this. I can do this." Bailey muttered to herself, pacing back an forth on the linoleum floor in the small bathroom of the warehouse.
Her footsteps echoed in the three stalls that she passed for the fifteenth time as she heard a click, causing her to stop dead in her tracks. For the past three minutes, besides her occasional muttering, she completely forgot to check if anyone was in the bathroom with her. Watching as the stall door opened, her cheeks heated up. A gorgeous girl with long, dark hair stepped out with a comforting smile on her face as her hazel eyes stared at Bailey, noticing her pink cheeks of embarrassment.
"You can do this." the girl chuckled, making her way past Bailey and to the porcelain sink to wash her hands.
"I don't even have a role and I'm freaking out." she spilled to the complete stranger in front of her. "I'm a stinkin' extra and I'm nervous." the girl let out a comforting laugh.
"You'll be fine, I promise. I used to get the jitters like this when I first started." she stated, turning around to face her as her wet hands reached for the roll of paper towels at the end of the sink.
"I don't even want to do this. I was conned into it!" Bailey replied, forcing out a chuckle, showing that she wasn't really mad, but a little flustered since she did not want to go through with this at all.
"You'll get over this nervous feeling once you see how things work. It's not that bad." the girl smiled again, then made her way towards the door. "Good luck, though." she finished before waving and exiting the bathroom.
Closing her eyes and sighing, Bailey leaned against the sink and placed her palms against her warm cheeks. Slowing breathing in, then exhaling, she tried everything she could to get rid of the nervous feeling inside of her. Thinking of the advice that she was just given by the nice girl, her eyes shot open as she slapped her thighs. She had to do this.

"Take five!" the director shouted prior to a bell echoing the halls of the fake 'hallway'. Within moments, the crowd of extras in the background dispersed in a sea of chatter as Bailey stayed frozen in the middle, waiting for everyone else to clear out before she made a move. Holding her book props in her arms, she couldn't help but grin as Joe made his way over to her from the center of the scene that had just ended.
"See? That wasn't bad, was it?" he asked, his eyes searching hers as she stared up at him. Bailey let out a chuckle, laughing at herself for getting all worked up over nothing. That girl in the bathroom was right, once it started, every feeling just went away.
"No, it wasn't." she admitted. "-But you were. I've never seen you stutter so much in my life." she laughed, knowing her words wouldn't hurt him since he knew she was joking.
"Hey, I couldn't remember my lines!" Joe quickly replied, his tone perking up in defense as she narrowed her eyes.
"-Because you suck." Bailey chuckled again in response, watching as Joe shook his head.
"It's because I was d-d-distracted by my g-girlfriend's b-b-beauty." he purposely stuttered, listening as Bailey's heart-warming laugh filled his ears.
"Shut up." she smacked him on the chest, Joe grabbing her hand as it made contact, holding it in place as he leaned forward to give her a quick kiss. Instantly, she went with it, her eyes closing only for a moment as his moist lips collided with hers. Pulling back with a grin, Bailey looked up at him. This whole 'extra' thing was going to be pretty beneficial.
"You better hope those cameras aren't rolling." a female voice stated, accompanied by faint footsteps as Joe turned his attention behind him. Bailey looked as well, watching as the girl from the bathroom approached the two with a polite smile on her face. "Nice a-action up there, Joe." she chuckled.
"Thanks." he rolled his eyes, his lips curling into a smile. "Bails, this is Jasmine, another actress in the show. Jasmine, this is my girlfriend Bailey." Joe introduced, waving his arms around as he spoke.
"Bailey! So you're the one Joe never shuts up about. No, correction, any Jonas shuts up about." she laughed, her eyes locking on Bailey's blue ones.
"You've heard all good stuff I hope?" Bailey asked, playfully wincing, hoping to hear an agreeing tone.
"Duh." Jasmine laughed. "Well, it's nice to finally meet you! I was just coming over to congratulate Joe here on how many re-takes we had to do in one scene. This tops it; seven in five minutes. Record!" Bailey laughed at Joe's blank expression, somewhat glad that there was someone to give Joe his daily-dose of lip, figuratively of course.
"I'm so glad I could contribute to your list of stupid records." he replied, his voice sounding un-amused even if he thought it was funny himself.
"Yeah. Um, jealousy?" Jasmine's sarcasm made Bailey laugh once again. "Anyway, I'm gonna grab lunch, since I don't have to shoot 'til later. See you guys around?" They both nodded as Jasmine smiled, turning around and walking away.
"She was nice." Bailey stated in approval, looking at Joe who shrugged.
"Ehh." he responded, making Bailey smile a bit.
"Let me see your script real fast." she said, putting her hands out for a moment as she looked up at Joe.
"Psh. I don't have it." he replied, keeping a smile from forming on his lips.
"You're a horrible liar. Let me see it."
"But I don't -"
"Joseph! I know you're butt is not that flat. -It's in your back pocket, now let me see it!" Bailey pleaded, her bold voice turning into a whine by the end of the sentence. Sighing and putting an act of annoyance on, Joe reached behind him, yanked the script out of his pocket, then handed it to her. Watching an expression of amusement take over her face, her eyes then began to scan the paper.
"What's your role again? Oh yeah! Joe Jonas." she asked, then answered herself with a straight face before hearing him laugh. "I think I know that guy. -But anyway." she was now smirking as her eyes continued to read the lines that Joe had just 'acted' out in the 'hallway'. Taking another moment and capturing the words, Bailey shifted her eyes up at Joe, then dramatically thrust the script into his chest. "Ok ok ok, wanna see my impression?"
"Sure." he replied, chuckling as he slipped the script back into his pocket while Bailey cleared her throat.
"Alright." she breathed in, closing her eyes for a moment, then slowly opening them to make it appear as if she was getting 'in the mood'. The vibe from the set and everything going on around her gave her somewhat of a high, as if she had downed a few energy drinks or something. Her attitude was cheerful and her words were quick and random. This was the fun Bailey everyone loved.
It was a moment before a look of seriousness conquered her face, her eyes darting up at Joe's as her body tensed. "Dr.Evil has come back." her voice was low and her tone was strong as Joe stifled his laughter at her impression. "Nick! We need to get back to headquarters, now!" she continued in exclamation, then shifted her body back and forth as if she was rushing to get somewhere, but instead, she stayed in place. Finally joining in with Joe's laughter, she clutched her stomach, not feeling any bit of embarrassment from the little thing she just pulled or worrying about who just saw.
"That was an amazing impression." Joe laughed at her attempt to be funny. Even though he knew her purpose for acting that out was to get him to laugh, he couldn't help but notice that it was actually kind of good.
"Oh my God." they heard a deep voice breathe out. Instantly, Joe and Bailey turned to see Mr.Parker, the producer of J.O.N.A.S. standing with his jaw dropped. A wave of embarrassment swarmed over Bailey's body as she stared at him, thinking that he took her little 'act' as an attempt to make fun of the script, when it wasn't like that at all.
"Sorry! I didn't mean to -" she began, apologizing for any offense she thought she caused by acting out that little line.
"That. Was. Perfect!" Mr.Parker cooed, his eyes wide.
"Excuse me?" Bailey and Joe both asked in unison, their eyebrows flicking upward, staring at the guy questionably.
"Can you do that again. Please?" he asked, his eyes still locked on Bailey.
"You're kidding, right? Because I was." she hesitantly chuckled as a nervous feeling began to take control over her body once again.
"Come with me." Mr.Parker ordered, grabbing her forearm and starting off in the opposite direction of the 'school' set.
"Joe!" Bailey exclaimed, turning around to see his body staring at her in amusement, wondering what was happening. She reached out to grab him to follow, but Mr.Parker kept walking, his head spinning around at the sound of Bailey's voice.
"Joseph, stay!" he ordered as if he was a dog, pointing for Joe not to follow as he continued to lead Bailey away from him.
She looked backwards and her steps stayed in line with Mr.Parker's, watching as Joe stood there. His arms were now crossed, his eyes locked onto the producer of the show as he walked away with his girlfriend. Knowing that the producer's taste was hard to satisfy, the only possible outcome of Mr.Parker dragging Bailey away had to be good.
